Eyelash Extensions extend the length and add volume to your natural lashes. They are black and semi-glossy, resembling the look of mascara. At iCandy, we consider the shape of your eyes and your facial structure to determine a "design" for your set of Eyelash Extensions. The result is beautiful, dark, extended lashes with no need for mascara. Eyes are defined to make you look youthful, awake and instantly put together.
Eyelash Extensions are applied one by one to your own natural eyelashes. Synthetic individual Eyelash Extensions are used with a safe, medical grade adhesive. Depending on how many lashes are applied, the first "Full Set" procedure takes 2-2.5 hours. As many as 120 lashes per eye can be applied during a full set application.
The art of applying eyelash extensions requires extensive training from a master stylist and many, many hours of guided practice. Many places that offer eyelash extensions do not have the proper training and the results can be both unattractive and unsafe for your natural lashes. At iCandy, all stylist apprentice for at least 3 months with a master stylist before being allowed to work on paying clients. When properly applied, eyelash extensions are beautiful and safe.
Your full set of eyelash extensions are maintained with regular "touch ups." Just like your hair, your eyelashes shed naturally over time and so your eyelash extensions will shed as your natural lashes do. Touch ups are required every 2-3 weeks to maintain a full extension look.
You will be comfortably reclined with your eyes closed. There is no discomfort or pain involved in the procedure. In fact, most clients find it is so relaxing and comfortable that they fall asleep.
When applied properly, eyelash extensions do not harm natural lashes! At iCandy, your stylist always considers the health of the natural lash by never applying lashes that are too long or too thick and heavy. Not only is the look natural and flattering, it is also safe for your natural lashes.
Absolutely not! Discomfort from eyelash extensions results from poor application techniques. Proper training ensures the stylist can isolate and separate the lashes properly and as a result, you should not be able to feel your extensions at all.
Because eyelash extensions are applied to existing natural lashes you must have some natural lashes to receive the procedure. Eyelash Extensions should not, and in many cases cannot, be applied to clients who have alopecia, are undergoing chemotherapy or those who suffer from Trichotillomania, unless and until the individual has received effective treatment and normal lash growth has resumed.
